"Rain or Shine"- trailer will be parked under a shelter to dispense syrup. You might need a raincoat to load syrup. Also, when you come down Mountain Brook Trail you will go past the "State Maintained Ends" sign.
Feed the Bees - Corn Syrup Give Away #3
(Please note new location for this event!!!)
In an effort to help honey bees, Ingredion Inc of Winston Salem has offered once again to provide Forsyth County Beekeepers Association bulk corn syrup for distribution to our members to feed their bees.
Rules:
1. The stipulation with this offer is our association can't sell what we receive and no one receiving it from us can sell this corn syrup.
2. Bring your own containers with lids. 5-gallon buckets work best (please - no milk jugs or juice containers). Make sure they don't leak!
3. Please be prepared to carry and lift your own syrup into your vehicle. Bring help if you need it.
We have had a few members step forward to work out the logistics of filling and transporting 4 totes (approximate 300 gallons each) of corn syrup to 3179 Mountain Brook Trail Winston-Salem NC 27105 for distribution to FCBA members to pick up their allotment of corn syrup on Saturday, October 3th from 9am to 12pm.
This time we are not placing limits on (reasonable) amounts. We plan on having 4 totes with each holding 275 gallons (55 five-gallon buckets each). We will limit folks to 10 buckets at a time if there is a line to prevent backups in traffic/parking. You can get back in line if you need more. If you need someone else to pick up your syrup please have them tell organizers on the pickup date who they are picking up for. Please register your name for the records. *This is a first come/first serve set up and registration does not guarantee availability.*
Please remember you can't sell the syrup you receive from this program. It is each registered member's responsibility to bring containers that will not leak and can hold the liquid dispensed. Last but not least this is a benefit for our members only. If you have some one who is interested all they have to do is become a member and then register for the program.
We also could use some volunteers again as the last time you all really stepped forward and helped. Please contact John Rogers either at jwrogers312@gmail.com or text 229-740-9418
